With the world doing its best to go green, football clubs are following suit and doing what they can to build, or in some cases change their stadiums to be as eco-friendly as possible.In the infographic, we explore just what football stadiums can do to become greener such as, recycling rain water by collecting and storing rain to be re-used to water the pitch during dryer periods of weather. Stadiums can also install solar panels to power lighting and other electronics in and around the stadium. One easy fix that all stadiums can do, is to provide dedicated transport to carry supports to and from the stadium to cut down on the harmful gases produced by cars.
We’ll also be looking at some of the amazing stadiums of the future to see just how eco-friendly a football stadium can be, particularly in Qatar, where the 2022 World Cup will be staged and the “Garden Stadium” that is currently only just a concept but takes eco-friendliness to a whole new level.
