MMA: Conor McGregor Sends Savage Warning to Dustin Poirier (LOOK)

Conor McGregor claims he will be stronger than ever as he enters the Octagon versus Dustin Poirier on July 10 in Las Vegas at UFC 264. The 32-year-old Irishman is coming off a second-round stoppage defeat to “The Diamond” at UFC 257 in January, but “Notorious” he feels the encounter has awoken his inner beast.

On Thursday, McGregor sent a stern alert to Poirier via social media. “...You've awakened a beast,” he wrote. A beast with the help of a far greater force! “Make your prayers.”

Poirier, 32, beat McGregor at UFC 257, but McGregor claimed the first fight by first-round knockout seven years earlier. Now, the two UFC stars are preparing for a pivotal third battle that will decide the fate of their epic trilogy.

According to McGregor's most recent message, the former UFC "champ champ" claims he'll have God by his hand, which obviously implies Poirier won't.

McGregor's Most Recent Posts Demonstrate Rejuvenation

Although Poirier has retained the same level and amount of social media interaction as before their last battle at UFC 257, McGregor's language, as well as the number of tweets the fighter has shared, has shifted drastically in recent weeks.

McGregor's Twitter timeline has been half celebration of his career, half threat to Poirier and other stars during the last week.

With a video callback to his dominant win over Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 in January 2020, he placed the whole division on alert. “Watch me open up the arts and puck these peasants around,” he said. Beginning July 10th...”

McGregor has posted a fan's take on the Irishman's top five results. He commented, "Interesting."

McGregor has shared a photo of himself with his fist lifted in triumph.

Despite his recent defeat, McGregor said, "Fighting is simple for me."

How simple is it? McGregor provided the answer. He said, "This simple," and he provided a clip from one of his prefight interviews with Joe Rogan while McGregor was the UFC's 145-pound champion.

But nothing McGregor shares on social media can make a difference as he fights Poirier at UFC 264 Live Free on July 10.

According to some analysts, McGregor's reputation is on the line in the fight, and he'll need to make a slew of changes to win his rematch against Poirier.

Regardless, his barrage of tweets has piqued the public's attention throughout the battle.
Title Shot for the Winner of UFC 264: Poirier vs. McGregor 3?

The winner of UFC 264: Poirier vs. McGregor 3 is expected to be on his path to a title shot.

The UFC lightweight championship is technically vacant thanks to Khabib Nurmagomedov's retirement, but the 155-pound division is about to see a new king next week at UFC 262.

Though it might seem strange that the UFC's No. 3 and No. 4 contenders will compete to fill a vacated title, that is precisely what will happen next week in Houston as lightweight contenders Charles Oliveira and Michael Chandler meet in the main event of UFC 262.

Both stalwart stars feel they are on their way to winning UFC gold at UFC 264, and either guy will definitely hop at the opportunity to face Poirier or McGregor next in a megafight title defense.
