Why 100 Percent Cotton Sheets Are the Best Choice for 2022

Cotton is an old favorite and one people use for bedding often. Despite its popularity, we must ask ourselves why this is the case. People can’t get enough of it, and there must be a reason. Check out our reasons why 100 percent cotton sheets are the best choice for 2022.

They’re Durable

If you’re a wild sleeper, you have probably seen this scene. Imagine waking up—likely in a position you weren’t in when you fell asleep—and noticing a rip in your sheets. It could be there for many reasons, from causing too much tension with movement or weak fibers. Regardless, it’s a hassle because you’ll have to get new ones immediately, or the problem will worsen. You won’t have this problem with cotton sheets. You can be assured that you will receive the most durable sheets on the market because of their strong natural fibers. You need to do your part to make your bedding look brand new.

They’re Hypoallergenic

Cotton bedding is excellent for people with sensitive skin, allegories, and asthma because of its hypoallergenic and anti-bacterial properties. Dust mites can provoke allergy symptoms like sneezing, a runny nose, and nasal congestion, especially in the spring. Since cotton has moisture-wicking properties, it can assist in repelling the effects of dust mites and reduce allergies overall. This isn’t something you get with many bedding materials, making 100 percent cotton sheets the superior choice for 2022.

Temperature Regulation

Cotton sheets have the unique property of being warm in winter and cool in summer. It doesn’t matter what season you’re experiencing; with cotton, you’ll be comfortable year-round. Cotton’s temperature-regulating properties are perfect for people who need their temperature to be just right as they fall asleep. Since this is the case, you’re likely to get a better night’s rest without worrying about tossing and turning.

In short, cotton is here to stay for a good reason. The proper bedding makes all the difference. We hope this article helps you understand that 100 percent cotton is one of the best materials you can find on the market and perfect for a good night’s sleep!

Hybrid press briefing by Jean Su, Center for Biological Diversity and Climate Action Network International; Ambassador Odo Tevi, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Vanuatu; Actress Jane Fonda; Tzeporah Berman, Chair of the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative; Mohamed Adow, Power Shift Africa; Brianna Fruean, Pacific Climate Warrior and Youth Climate Justice Activist; and Romain Ioualalen, Oil Change International. Jane Fonda, actress and activist, said most people in the United States understand that the climate crisis is alarming, “Why can't our leaders hear this?” Following the opening Session of the Climate Ambition Summit today (20 Sep) in New York, Fonda addressed journalists and said, “John Kerry, who is President Biden's emissary on the climate crisis, says ‘we can't stop using fossil fuels because it will leave too many countries behind. We have to rely on carbon capture.’ This is ridiculous.” She continued, “We can help the countries in the Global South and others who have difficulty totally transitioning to a green economy, a green energy source. We can make that possible. If you take the $4 trillion subsidies that fossil fuel companies are given, we can use that to help other countries make the transition to green energy, and we must do.” At the same press briefing, the Representatives of Vanuatu elaborated on the initiatives announced at the summit. He said, “What we are hoping to do is to clarify the international law in respect of the impact of climate change, but also we are hoping we are increasing more climate ambitions.” He also said, “We look forward to hearing from all countries on the ambitions and announcement. We could also use more ambition now, especially for our climate and our people. We urge you all to encourage our governments to join this movement and spur on a collective action.” Tzeporah Berman, Chair and Founder of the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty Initiative, commented, “There is no question today was a turning point. We have waited more than 30 years for our leaders to tackle the root causes of the fires, the floods, and the heat waves that are sweeping our planet and taking lives and livelihoods: the expansion of oil, gas, and coal.” She also said, “Up until this week, the fossil fuel industry had made their products - oil, gas, and coal - invisible and have been exerting influence to weaken the global approach to climate change. That stops now.” She concluded, “Today, one in five people die on the planet because of air pollution from fossil fuels alone. We can and we will build a coalition of countries designing a fossil fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty to stop the expansion and ensure an equitable wind down that is fast, fair, and financed. The fossil fuel industry won't be invited to the negotiating table. It's clear that they will not manage their own decline.”

Join us LIVE for the 78th United Nations General Assembly debate! From 19 - 23 and 26 September 2023, more than 100 world leaders, thousands of diplomats and advocates come together to deliver statements and tackle global challenges. General debate website: https://gadebate.un.org/ On-demand Videos of each speaker: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLwoDFQJEq_0Y2bX0mZ-3hsc1ZrvJ2LZCy The theme of the 78th session of the General Assembly, including the general debate, will be: "Rebuilding trust and reigniting global solidarity: Accelerating action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals towards peace, prosperity, progress and sustainability for all." This theme encompasses the recognition that we are at a crossroads in history and that the path ahead will be decisive in determining not only our future, but that of generations to come. Accordingly, we must work creatively to preserve and to further strengthen multilateralism, by re-dedicating ourselves to upholding and defending its centerpiece, the Charter of the United Nations. Therefore, it is imperative that we prioritize rebuilding trust and reigniting meaningful global solidarity by using our collective power and forge ahead, with courage and determination, to do all that we can humanly do to deliver the future we want, by regaining the lost momentum and accelerating action towards sustainable development, in order to achieve Peace, Prosperity, Progress and Sustainability for all our People. In this context, the PGA calls on Member States to contemplate how we can undertake coordinated purposive action to rebuild international peace and security; to incentivize bold and decisive leadership in the fight against climate change and to halt the further destruction of the environment; to bolster efforts to promote and to ensure the full enjoyment of human rights and dignity by all during the upcoming session of the General Assembly. -------------------- Watch LIVE the debate of the General Assembly of the United Nations, in the Original Language Spoken: https://webtv.un.org

Kim Jong Un’s trip to Russia to meet Vladimir Putin has been turned into a propaganda film. North Korean TV released the 90 minute documentary on Wednesday, a few days after Kim Jong Un returned from Russia. The North Korean leader appeared greatly entertained by a walrus doing sit-ups. There were also many shots of the dictator’s famed armoured train, which is rumoured to be bomb proof, without sacrificing luxury touches on the inside. The film also showed the moment Putin invited Jong Un to take a seat in his armoured car. Parts of the car are blurred, likely for security reasons. Donald Trump famously tried to show Kim Jong Un the inside of ‘The Beast’ in 2018, but Secret Service agents thought it wasn’t such a great idea, and ushered everyone away. Kim Jong Un’s ‘notepad guy’ was seen writing the dictator’s every word down, as he inspected military equipment, the official’s job is to follow the ‘Supreme Leader’ around to make sure all his ‘wise thoughts’ recorded verbatim. The film also featured Kim Jong Un and Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu swapping gifts, including a hat and a sword. And of course, when Kim Jong Un’s train finally arrived back in North Korea, ‘the crowd went wild’. #northkorea #russia #kimjongun Subscribe here: http://bit.ly/ODNsubs TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@ondemandnews Twitter: https://twitter.com/ODN Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ODN/ If you wish to purchase any of our clips for commercial use, please visit: http://www.itnproductions.co.uk/news/

Play Video: Maui wildfires: Wind, drought and invasive grass created perfect storm for devastating fires

Punishing winds, a severe drought and invasive grass created the perfect conditions for the devastating fires on Maui that have so far killed at least 67 people, experts say. The exact cause of the fires is yet to be determined but the National Weather Service had issued warnings for high winds and dry weather as Hurricane Dora brushed south of Hawaii. Craig Clements, a meteorology professor at San Jose State University, said Maui had already been in a severe drought, putting it at risk for fires. He said the steep mountains overlooking the hard-hit town of Lahain also exacerbated the high wind conditions, sending them into populated areas at high speed. Alyssa Julie has more on how conditions fanned the flames of the fires. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a naturally occurring greenhouse gas and is essential for life on Earth to function normally. However, humans are emitting it on an industrial scale, like through the burning of fossil fuels, which is contributing to global warming. Kamyar Razavi explains how the exponential increase of CO2 release is causing the planet to heat up. King Charles coronation: Crown jewels, centuries-old traditions and what it all means
Play Video: King Charles coronation: Crown jewels, centuries-old traditions and what it all means

The coronation of King Charles III will be the first time a King of England has his coronation televised and only the second-ever British monarch to do so after Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. It’s a ceremony full of pomp and circumstance, cloaked in mystery and steeped in centuries-old traditions…that comes from a healthy dose of historical pettiness and happenstance. During the ceremony, the monarch will be presented with the crown jewels, almost all of which were destroyed, altered, or lost to time over the often-tumultuous centuries of British history. While the crown is the centrepiece of the regalia – what do sceptres, swords and a Scottish stone have to do with being anointed to the British throne? Global News explains. Could China invade Taiwan?
Play Video: Could China invade Taiwan?

When Russia invaded Ukraine just over a year ago, the question was raised if China could be watching what happened to determine if it could launch its own invasion of the independent island nation of Taiwan. For years, Chinese President Xi Jinping has said Taiwan would some day reunify with China but outside of military exercises near the island, there has yet to be actual movement that has signified if Beijing would take the next step and try to invade. Sean Previl takes a look at the history of the country, the political conditions it currently faces and what could happen if China did take that step. Mummering: Newfoundland
Play Video: Mummering: Newfoundland's unique holiday tradition comes roaring back

This past weekend in St. John’s Newfoundland, hundreds of people hit the streets for the Atlantic province’s annual Mummers Parade. As part of this festive tradition, people gather up old clothes that have been lying around the house –tablecloths and oversized shirts are a favourite – and assemble a “mummer’s rig” or costume. Originally, mummering was a house-visiting tradition. It first appeared in Newfoundland and Labrador in the 1800’s, though the practice dates back much further than that. Mummers would visit their neighbours in disguise, looking for beer and a bite to eat. Alyssa Julie has more on the history of mummering - and the dark parts of its past.
