A strange audio clip has been igniting vigorous debate on the Internet – is the voice on the recording saying, “Yanny” or “Laurel”? Matthew Leonard, PhD, an assistant professor of neurological surgery at UC San Francisco and a member of the UCSF Weill Insitute for Neurosciences, studies the neural basis of word representations.
