World Health Organization Video: LIVE: Dr Tedros at the #Olympism365 Summit

World Health Organization Video: Guinea: Blocking the return of polio with vaccination in gold mining areas
Guinea was a country that had been polio-free since 2015. But, we see in several African countries a new importation and recirculation of different variants of poliomyelitis virus. The gold mining areas in Guinea are overcrowded with a mix of populations coming from neighbouring countries and these sites are considered to be home to many diseases that affect the whole country. With national and local health authorities, the World Health Organization has developed an innovative process to make sure that polio vaccination can cover all remote places of these mining areas.
