How to increase sales at your cannabis dispensary

As the cannabis industry continues to grow and evolve, dispensary owners must continue innovating to differentiate themselves in an increasingly competitive market. Whether you’re establishing a new dispensary or looking to enhance your existing business, several strategies can help you increase sales at your cannabis dispensary.

Commit to transparent testing practices

Safety is paramount in the cannabis industry. Ensure that all your products undergo rigorous third-party testing from a reputable testing lab so you can provide accurate test results to your customers.

Transparent cannabis testing practices can boost sales by improving your business reputation. It builds trust while demonstrating your dispensary’s commitment to offering safe, high-quality products.

Offer product demonstrations

Interactive experiences can make a lasting impression. Offering product demonstrations can help increase sales at your cannabis dispensary by allowing customers to engage with your products in a controlled, educational environment.

These demonstrations can include how to use a new vaporizer, tips for properly consuming edibles, and ways to grind cannabis. Such experiences can lead to customers buying products because they understand them better and feel more comfortable using them.

Embrace product diversification

The cannabis market is large, with consumers seeking different products for various needs. Expanding your product range to include a wide variety of strains, edibles, concentrates, topicals, and CBD products can cater to a broader audience.

Also, consider offering accessories like vaporizers, rolling paper, and grinders. Product diversification not only attracts more customers but also increases the chances of existing customers finding something new to try every time they visit your dispensary.

Diversify payment options

Finding ways to diversify payment options can significantly enhance the customer experience. Alongside cash, consider accepting debit cards, mobile payments, or even establishing a cashless ATM system. The easier you make it for customers to complete their purchases, the more likely they are to buy from you.

Implement a loyalty program

Loyalty programs incentivize repeat business. Offering rewards for frequent purchases, referrals, or special occasions can create a strong bond between your dispensary and your customers.

Ensure the program is simple to understand and genuinely offers valuable rewards that encourage customers to keep coming back. Exclusive discounts, members-only events, and early access to new products are just a few ways to make your loyalty program appealing.

Final thoughts

Increasing sales is about creating an engaging, educational, and trustworthy environment that resonates with your customers. Implementing these changes can set your dispensary apart in this competitive industry. Stay informed about industry trends and look for innovative ways to improve your services and offerings.

This week's top stories of the week include: 0:15 How investment advice is changing – ‘The film is a rollercoaster ride into the last few years of how technology is changing our relationship to money’, says Chris Temple, director of This Is Not Financial Advice, a documentary that follows four online investors, including one who made - and lost - millions in crypto. 5:56 New tech reveals the impacts of climate change – Using AI, we can process Earth Observation (EO) data faster. Helping us monitor disaster impact in hours, not days. AI is also improving climate and weather forecast models. Through AR and VR, engineers are transforming these complex datasets into interactive, intuitive experiences that can help leaders make climate decisions. 7:39 This debt plan can save coral reefs – The deal reduces Indonesia’s debt repayments to the US by $35 million over the next 9 years and redirects those payments towards reef conservation instead. Indonesia is home to 16% of the world’s coral reefs and around 60% of the world’s coral species. Its reefs generate around $1.6 billion in value every year through fisheries, coastline protection and tourism. But Indonesia’s reefs face a range of threats. 9:21 Ray Dalio on funding climate action – By 2050, climate damage could cost between $1.7 trillion and $3.1 trillion per year. However, the costs of inaction could be even greater, says Ray Dalio, the founder of the world’s largest hedge fund, Bridgewater Associates. Right now, climate action is hugely under-financed. _____________________________________________ The World Economic Forum is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation.
