The perception was that the US labor market was resilient and that hiring in the US was at a strong pace. The job report on Friday revealed that not only was hiring weak in July, but it was also much weaker than previously thought in May and June. Revisions took 120,000 jobs off the May reading and 133,000 jobs off the June reading.
